Hare Tor

If anyone has any boxes around Hare Tor / Sharp Tor area they may want to check them, as we were looking across from Fur Tor today and the whole area looks very chargrilled after yesterday's fire.

Parkhill Plodders - we were on Brent moor/Eastern White Barrow, everything still frozen solid on top and blowing a gale but checked our box so don't have to treck up there again too soon. :)

It was our first meet too and it was really nice to finally put faces to peoples' stamps we've seen on the moor. Suprised how busy it was but great to see so many people still interested. Thanks to all who accommodated our girls and their 'stamp swopping'! Now can we please have some sunshine so we ...

What time does the meet go on until? We can't leave Torbay until noon so won't be there until about 1pm.

I doubt it but you never know what's lurking in those boxes from my childhood that are in the attic :)

So sorry to hear of the loss of your walking partner. We also had a box on Laughter Tor that was about 100 yards south of your box but it was stolen / went missing about a year ago. I have a feeling that the whole area was cleared at the same time as there were a few other boxes in the same area tha...

Visited here today and can report that letterbox is in Grant's Pot. The book is a little damp - nothing too bad at the moment. Great to find 'one of the old ones'!

A little confused!

When we site a new box, we always place a stamped addressed postcard in the book - for the first finder to send back and let us know the box has been found! We were a little surprised when we received a postcard back yesterday from our box, sited near the Powder Mills (placed April this year). We we...

Coloured inks

Just back from an evening stroll checking a couple of our boxes. We noticed that one of our hand carved stamps had been inked with 3 different colours, a different one for each different part of the stamp. We've noticed this on a couple of other stamps whilst out and about. Just curious - what colou...

I did look at chopping them in half but then realised the side is big enough to carve too so put our name down each side.

Asda are also selling some great rubbers for carving, 15cm x 5cm, for £1. It's pink with "for BIG mistakes" written on it. I've carved a couple and they are fine to work with.

Another missing box!

After seeing in Catalogue update that our Laughter Tor box was 'missing', we went up to check on it and sure enough it has gone (no evidence apart from the hole!) Not only that, but the whole area of Laughter Tor has been stripped of boxes. As we didn't get chance to check it before it was 'taken', ...
