New Box

Hi guys, Thought you might like to know that I have 'found' a new box. It is behind the bar in my local pub! A boxer named 'Noddy' (not sure if they are a forum member) suggested that the pub should have a letterbox, et voila, a box! The pub is The Who'd Have Thought It in Milton Combe, (NOT the one...

New box!

Hi everyone, Just to let you know that the Dartmoor Border Morris box is now just and running. Finally! For those of you who want directions, please send me a private message. There are directions in rhyme with clues, or bearings and a grid reference. (Or both if you fancy). It went out on Sunday......

Saw you sly! That is the exact one. I got all the neighbouring boxes too - plus a lot more - great tor for it!
I'd really like to know if there are any others around, as I don't think I have a letterboxing book that goes back to 1993, if it is in a book.

The Pillar Box Trail

I don't know if many of you are aware of this set of boxes, but last week, I found number one on Pew Tor. This has to be the oldest box I have ever found - and it was VERY well hidden. Lets put this in perspective: It was placed in 1993, since then, only 12 people have found it - 4 of them being peo...

Thank you everyone! I've now got a much better idea of where to put the box and how to sort out the bearings , clues etc. Luckily for me, my boyfriend was a scout and is very good with a compass (I'm still learning). I'll post a new topic when the box is hidden, and pass on clues if people are inter...

Placing a box

I'm part of a morris side named Dartmoor Border. While trying to come up with interesting things to do, I thought about letterboxing. Does anyone have any tips on putting out a letterbox? I know the rough locality of where it will be, but haven't yet rummaged around to find the right place. Also, wo...

Box on Sharpitor

Whilst out walking this evening, my boyfriend and I stumbled across the remnants of a box on Sharpitor. I say 'remnants' as the box it was in (a blue California Innovations box) had the lid off and the side was cracked and has bits missing. There was no stamp, but parts of the book were left. Sadly,...

It is a nice place to live - and I admit that I'm very lucky, though, it is so wet at times that I need webbed feet :)

How I started...

In all honestly, I have only been letterboxing once. However, I had to be dragged back to the car by my boyfriend as it was getting dark... My boyfriend's family go letterboxing when they have time, and I believe they are party of the '100 Club'. I mentioned once that I thought it would be fun...and...
