An apology due.
I see, the title for the photos is above corresponding photo. Maybe that's why I got confused with some of the descriptions.
I'm due an eye test, best book it soon, don't you think.

Boundary rock

Hi Restells, It seems you had a good walk with the DPA. It is surprising what objects of interest go un-noticed whilst out on the moor. Not wishing to nit-pick, but the stone with a bench mark on it, is in fact a Boundary Rock of Whitchurch Parish. See Brewer P.165 and photo in top RH corner & Page ...

March 2012 Meet

Hi everyone,
I have heard on the 'jungle telegraph' that the Spring 2012 Meet at lee Moor Hall, will NOT be on Clock Change Day but on the following Sunday - Aprils Fools Day.
Is this a wind up?
Can anyone confirm this?
Apparantly the hall is already booked for the Meet weekend.

I Googled Dartmoor Gazetteer just to help to see if any copies were available. A possible source may be the Yelverton & District Local History Society. They advertise several books which are available to purchase at their Meetings. This includes the Gazetteer. See their web site for details.

Dartmoor Mags

The magazines have all gone now.
In the end I changed my mind about selling them and passed them on to a couple of people who I know will get good use of them, and enjoy them.

Thanks for the help in solving this problem.

Roy's Clues

Hi
Were they meant to be WOM's but with catalogue numbers?
If the clues were / are not in the Catalogue nor appeared on an Update, how does one get hold of the clues I wonder.

Just checked through my collection and I found Dartmoor Most Holy - Nuns Cross on 17 Feb 2002 . I also found a Yosemite Warriors - Pool Wars at Crazywell Pool in May 2004. It would be nice to know whose boxes these are and if they still box. If they do contact details would be nice to swap clues.

Hi I found Dartmoor Nuns Cross Most Holy , back in 2003 /4 in a pit in the immediate area of Nuns Cross. It could be that someone took the stamps by mistake not knowing how the hobby works, or perhaps the LBT doesn't take the stamps off the moor and stashes them. Perhaps the LBT has a conscience. We...

New Bunkhouse - Prince Of Wales

Hi everyone, I popped into the Prince of Wales yesterday (14/7/11)for a refreshing shandy , after a walk around Fox Tor during a very hot day. I was greeted by Terry (Landlord) and asked if I knew that the Bunkhouse was now up and running. I was unaware of this and was treated to a guided tour of th...

Hi Wolf & Rabe, You are very wise not to leave your car in a deserted Dartmoor car park overnight. May I suggest parking up at the Fox & Hounds Hotel at Shortacombe near Bridestowe, speak to the landlord of your intentions and ask permission to leave your car there overnight ( 2 nights) whilst you g...
