Yesterday Afternoon, my friend Ant and I parked up @ Combestone Tor, ignoring the tor, crossed the road and walked up the Valley towars O Brook. We had limited letterboxing time, so a river walk it was.

Following the valley up to the grid reference 6671, we found 7 boxes in 2 hours. 2 boxes were part of a set of Mines Stamps, unsure how many are in the set and 2 boxes were wom, part of a Dartmoor ghosts series. These Dartmoor Ghosts stamps are worth the trek alone.

We also found a very old Box, Laird of the Brook, any help identifying this Letterbox would be appreciated.

This walk would suit familys and people with limited time, Kids can enjoy the immediate access to Combestone tor, and the walk along the valley and up the river is comfortable and pleasant.

Weather permitting, we are looking to hit White Tor on Sunday after Lunch if any letterboxers would like to join us and increase our party. The more the merrier Smile

Laird of the O'Brook is box 9042. It is listed in the 1995 catalogue. I found it in 1993, I believe.

It's good to see some of the old boxes still on the moor.

Much appreciated Andy, 20 years and it's still going strong!

Thanks for your lovely comments about the Dartmoor Ghosts. They were originally WOM but then after they'd been out a while, they were logged in the Catalogue as Tina's Dartmoor Ghosts. I'm taking the remaining boxes in this Friday and replacing them with a second series of Dartmoor Ghosts.

If you are interested in the clues, as they will remain WOM for the first few months, then just pm me and I'm happy to swap clues.
