Hello,

I'm hopeful of convincing Michelle to go up to Easdon Down this weekend (weather permitting), but we've tried before and found it difficult to find anywhere to park. Does anybody have any suggestions? Do we park near Barracott Farm or somewhere in North Bovey?

Best Wishes,

Hi Adam - its a difficult place to get to! There is a lane going up to the moor past Barracott Farm, but the farmer doesn't like cars parking on the moor and has a habit of locking the gate when he sees one there!!. A couple of my friends went up last week and chanced it and they were O.K. they didn't get locked in. Perhaps that particular farmer is no longer there. he has no legal right to lock the gate anyway. There is a small layby near the road turn off for a couple of cars though. Good luck!

Hi
went there about 3 weeks ago to collect Rainbow Enders seasons plus a couple of Geos. Don't drive up to the farm, continue north from the farm lane junction (West end of the lane mentioned). A couple of hundred yards along the road heading north you can pull in a wide part on the left leaving plenty of room for any passing vehicles. Then head back to farm junction, turn left up hill past farm cottages Easdon farm. Warning, if you are taking dogs, the terrain is terrible prickly gorse, good luck.

We managed to find a place to park yesterday and had a lovely time. The weather was absolutely perfect meaning that the views were stunning. Many thanks for your advice.

Best Wishes,
