The hole only seemed to be about a foot or so deep when I saw it and the post looks very rotten now. Maybe a cow or pony pushed it over, I have seen them use those electricity pylons up on Walkhampton common as scratchpost, maybe that's what happened here.

Cater's beam

I was walking across Cater's beam today and I noticed the railway sleeper had been recently uprooted. Surely that's going to upset some clues.

Boring is perhaps the wrong word. I just personally don't really like spending 2 hours of a walk on tarmac.

I find the walk from OP22 to OP15 / Ockerton court really boring. Shame they closed the ringroad. They have even resurfaced most the potholes not too long ago.

Are you sure about those handful of boxes if one is scavenging? I walk my dogs there fairly often and never found anything along that bridleway on this side of the farm ruins. Just the odd one in between the boulders at the bottom of Cuckoo rock, but that will be bracken hell right now. There are of...

I usually carry 1 pole. I don't so much use it for walking but it does frequently come in handy when crossing streams, jumping across rocks or checking for boggyness. I have seen so many adders this year that I kindof hesitate where I stick my hands these days so that is the main reason I carry one....

Damaged: Strolling along the river - Plym

I took in a damaged letterbox last Friday. It was a stamp called "Strolling along the river - Plym" and then a small one saying "Crane lake". I found it just downstream from the Plym Ford on the great Gnats head side of the river. The outer pot lid had several holes in it which w...

I had a quick look here. I don't think the one from august last year was ours. On the 20th of January we stamped two shop bought / kids stamps and one depicting someone walking with the text "Frederick Scoff - On the run". I don't have clues for the "Obsessed by rocks" stamp that...

Interesting thread I hadn't read before on this forum. What happened to your bus ticket stamp? Luckily Burrator is only a 10 minute drive for me .. taking wet labradors stinking of badgerpoo on a bus would be a bit difficult I think ;) Do you still use the bus service? I was walking the dog on Down ...

Found: Carnaval de Muerte

Yesterday whilst walking the dog on Peek Hill I found this letterbox out in the open. It was a single pillpot (with no marks carved in it) containing a foam stamp depicting two flying skeletons and the words "Carnaval de Muerte". No book. I took it home as I have no idea where it should go...

Only just noticed this thread. Interesting idea. I would definitely buy electronic copies on-line. For registered charities PayPal only charges 20p + 1.4%. For larger payments this is not bad at all but for £2.50 it is quite a lot (percentage wise) although the cost is still a lot less then 2 stamps...

Why have you got such a problem with finding geocaches? Can you not simply ignore them and move on?

Was that about 1 ish? I thought I saw someone following the route, bending down in the right places as I picked up some of the last ones in that series.

Ink

What ink do some people use to stamp? I collected a few boxes this lunchtime and the previous boxer had used several different colours of ink on the stamp. It looks almost impossible to be able to do this with a normal ink pad (unless there are really small ones?) What was more annoying - I only use...

Never had much luck on Sheepstor either. I usually keep my eyes open when I happen to walk the dogs here, but I only ever found a handful of boxes.
