LIST OF LETTERBOXING ABBREVIATIONS

ABBREVIATION MEANING
BS - Boundary Stone
CDT - Conies Down Tor
FP - Flag pole
FP - Finger Post
FAB - From Above Box
HP - highest point of a tor
LH or LHS - Left Hand Side
RH or RHS - Right Hand Side
OP - Observation Post (on the North moor)
o/h - overhanging
PVCR - Part Veg Covered Rock
WOM - Word Of Mouth
T&F - Tare & Feather
T/P - telegraph pole
TTR - Turf Topped Rock
TV/TVM/NHM/NHTM - North Hessary TV/Tor mast




Direction ones with or without the backslash \
N/E - North East
S/E - South East
N/W - North West
S/W -South West


Others may refer to specific locations

GLT - Great Links Tor
LMT - Little Mis Tor
GST Great Staple Tor
MST - Middle Staple Tor
LST - little Staple Tor

Other abbreviations which you may find on the wandering artists clues are:-
PWCR or PHCR - part - whortle or heather - covered rock
PGCR or GCR - part grass covered rock
MCR or PMCR - moss covered or part moss covered rock
LG. sl.r - large sloping rock or - put b for boulder, or sm. for small
sl.b - sloping boulder
u/r - upright - be it rock, structure or obscure thing
s/l - skyline
pb - peat bank
app. - approximately
..p - paces, e.g. 30p - thirty paces
hgpt - high (est) point


Miscellany

Litterboxes - a container with No Stamp in it, remove and report it (be brave you can do it)
